Grapefruit IPA
August 2022
We use almost all of these grapefruits to flavor this IPA. The zest goes in just before fermentation and then the grapefruits are peeled, frozen, and dethawed so that their juice can be added to the beer after fermentation. The freezing breaks down the fruit’s cellular walls and allows for more juice to be released. Adding the juice after fermentation provides for a more fruit-forward taste to the beer.
